Modric Extends Invitation to Mbappe to Join Real Madrid
Luka Modric, the midfield maestro, has sent a message to Kylian Mbappe, stating that exceptional players are always welcome at Real Madrid.
“You hear a lot of rumors about players coming and going in relation to Real, but I can’t say anything specific. Mbappe is an outstanding player; he has proven his abilities with the French national team and PSG. And exceptional talents are always welcomed at Real,” said Modric.
“However, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to talk about players from other teams, especially at this stage of the season. Let’s wait and see what happens next season, but Mbappe is a top player and one of the best in the world at the moment,” emphasized the Croatian midfielder.
Mbappe’s future remains a big question mark. Just a few days ago, Spanish TV channels SER and Cuatro reported that the 22-year-old striker rejected a contract extension with PSG to pursue a move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2023. Mbappe’s contract with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2024. Therefore, the French club would have to sell Mbappe in the upcoming transfer window unless they want to risk losing him for free next year.
Journalist Josep Pedrerol from El Chiringuito affirmed that Mbappe will arrive at the Bernabéu stadium this summer. “I’ll say it again: Mbappe will play for Real Madrid next season. Mbappe won’t accept an extension with PSG and is confident that the club will offer a reasonable transfer fee as he only has one year left on his contract. And he really wants to join Real,” stated Pedrerol decisively.
However, PSG has denied these reports, suggesting that Mbappe’s contract negotiations are progressing well. “The most important thing is that Mbappe remains silent. Meanwhile, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi affirmed that Mbappe has no reason to leave the team. “We have invested heavily to win the Champions League and all possible titles. Neymar and Mbappe have no reason to leave. PSG can truly win every competition. We have a quality squad. But it’s not over yet; we will continue to work and remain calm.
