“This is an immensely joyful and special day for me, for my entire family, friends, and loved ones. I’m thrilled and proud to become a part of Real Madrid. It’s a day I want to savor and share with those closest to me,” expressed the goalkeeper.
Kepa further remarked, “I’m immensely proud to be a part of Real Madrid with all its heritage and history. I’ve always followed LaLiga, and I grew up watching Casillas guard the Madrid goal. He’s one of my idols, and whenever I watched Madrid, it was him. It’s a historic and amazing club, and I’m proud to be associated with it.”
“I’m prepared for the challenge. I can assure you I will never lack commitment and hard work. These have been intense days, but when I had the chance to join Real Madrid, I was certain about everything.”
Kepa emphasized, “You cannot predict what will happen in football, and we don’t know what tomorrow holds. Football is football, and it’s ever-changing. I remain focused, wherever I am, keeping myself alert and dedicated, a hundred percent. Now, I’m ready to give a hundred percent for Real Madrid.”
Reflecting on the call from Real Madrid, Kepa stated, “It was a very straightforward decision. While I received offers from other prominent clubs, when I was informed of this opportunity, things fell into place swiftly and easily. I received the call a few days after training, and everything took off from there. The first person I shared the news with was my wife. She was with me, and we were both elated.”
“Being 25 years old, I’m content. I don’t want to compare. I’m here to forge my own path and make my name. What I achieve or don’t achieve will be based on my own reputation, not in comparison with other goalkeepers.”
Kepa conveyed his well-wishes to Thibaut Courtois, who is currently facing the hardships of injury, saying, “I’ve spoken with Courtois, and he’s going through the worst situation in football: injury. I wish him immense strength, courage, and a swift recovery. Hopefully, he’ll be back on the field soon.”
“Experience gained through years in football toughens you up. I’ve been through all sorts of situations, and I always try to focus on the positives, even when the situation isn’t ideal. I’ve gathered all the good things, the achievements of the past years, and I’m eager to showcase that.”
Kepa proudly noted, “Real Madrid is the king of Europe. I don’t feel pressure from that statement; I still think that way. Even when I wasn’t at Real Madrid, I thought they were the best, and I still do. During my time at Chelsea, we faced them in the Champions League for three seasons straight, and I believe they’re the best because I’ve experienced it. We all agree on that.”
Speaking about teammates on the national team, Kepa mentioned, “I’ve had teammates at Real Madrid on the national team. Not recently, but over the past few years, I’ve asked questions, had conversations, and I continue to receive the same feedback. What you see from the outside is truly amazing, and when you meet people who have been here for a long time, it only reinforces that perception.”
