The Brazilian midfielder, Fred, will be joining Fenerbahce for a transfer fee of £13 million. His jersey number 17 will now be handed over to Rasmus Hojlund. Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Manager Ten Hag informed Fred that he is not part of the club’s playing plans for the upcoming season.

With only one year left on his contract, Fred needed to find a new destination. Both Fulham and Galatasaray expressed interest in acquiring his services. However, Fenerbahce emerged as the latest suitor for Fred, receiving a nod from Manchester United at a transfer fee of £13 million.

Fred swiftly reached personal terms with Fenerbahce and traveled to Turkey for the necessary medical checks.

As Fred bids farewell to Old Trafford, new signing Rasmus Hojlund will inherit his favored jersey number 17.

The Danish forward joined the “Theatre of Dreams” for a price tag of £72 million. However, he will have to wait until September for his new team debut, as he is currently dealing with a back issue.

In addition to the departure of Fred and Maguire, Manchester’s team is working on offloading Donny van de Beek, Brandon Williams, Eric Bailly, and young goalkeeper Matej Kovar.

Conversely, in the closing days of the summer transfer window, Manager Ten Hag is expected to welcome two new signings, Sofyan Amrabat and Benjamin Pavard.

As the transfer window activity continues, Manchester United’s reshuffling hints at a rejuvenated squad ready to tackle the upcoming challenges of the season.
