As the transfer saga of Kylian Mbappe with Paris Saint-Germain continues to stall, it remains uncertain whether this star striker will be part of the team as PSG kicks off the season at home against Lorient on Saturday.

And now, the future of Neymar at the club also suddenly seems uncertain.

Leading French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported on Monday evening that Neymar has informed the club of his desire to leave this summer, further adding to the chaos surrounding the reigning champions of the French league.
Mbappe, who also joined in 2017, wants to play for PSG this season and then leave as a free agent when his contract expires, allowing him to demand a substantial signing bonus and a higher salary. He has been closely linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Mbappe had informed the club in June that he would not extend his contract for another year until 2025.

PSG responded by asserting that he would be sold this summer to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season, also omitting him from the roster for the pre-season tour to Japan and South Korea.

Mbappe has been training alone or with fringe players since then, and it seems unlikely he will feature in the lineup against Lorient unless a deal is reached.

Now, Mbappe, Neymar, and Verratti did not participate in PSG’s media day, the official photoshoot for Ligue 1 season 23/24.
Luis Enrique and Luis Campos have informed the players that the club does not plan to utilize them in the upcoming season’s lineup.
