Luis Enrique arrived with high expectations at PSG, having previously led Barcelona to a Champions League victory in 2015 with a star-studded lineup featuring Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. However, upon his arrival in Paris, Messi had already departed after a two-year tenure, potentially signaling good news for Neymar, who has also been linked with a possible exit from Parc des Princes.

The Brazilian player enjoyed three fantastic years under Luis Enrique at Camp Nou, during which Barcelona secured two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey trophies, one UEFA Super Cup, and one Club World Cup, in addition to the Champions League.

Luis Enrique’s Shocking Resignation from PSG: Not Because of Mbappe?

When questioned if he could guarantee that striker Kylian Mbappe would stay for the upcoming season, Enrique tactfully avoided a direct answer.

The Spanish coach later asserted that he “trusts all the players who are under contract.”

However, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated that 24-year-old Mbappe “must sign a new contract” if he wants to stay with the club for the next season.

“The position is very clear. If Kylian wants to stay, he will sign a new contract. We will not allow the best player in the world to leave for free. That is not possible,” Khelaifi said.

“He said he will not leave for free. If someone changes their mind, it’s not my problem.”

Spanish media outlets unanimously reported that head coach Luis Enrique is contemplating resigning from Paris Saint-Germain barely a month after taking up the position. The reason cited is his dissatisfaction with certain internal developments within the team, including the situation involving Kylian Mbappe.

According to radio station Cadena COPE, Enrique has made it clear in the past month that if Kylian Mbappe remains part of PSG’s squad, he will be a key player on the field. PSG is currently exploring options to sell Mbappe to avoid losing him for free next year and to receive a transfer fee from any potential buyer, even considering filing a complaint with FIFA against Real Madrid, alleging an illegal approach, in which case Mbappe would have to repay the fee.

However, the Mbappe issue is just one aspect of the challenges Enrique is facing at Parc des Princes, with uncertainties surrounding the squad’s composition and how he will perform with the players he has. Recently, PSG has been discussing the possible dismissal of Sporting Director Luis Campos, who played a crucial role in bringing Enrique to the club.

As the situation unfolds, the football world eagerly awaits Luis Enrique’s final decision, with PSG’s fate hanging in the balance.
