Mbappe’s deal will expire at the end of the upcoming season, and club officials are reportedly aiming for around £250 million for his services.

PSG believes the player has agreed to join Real Madrid in 2024, but affirms he won’t depart on a free transfer.

With Mbappe rejecting a new contract and persistent interest from Real Madrid, PSG has taken steps that reflect an increasingly strained relationship. The club removed banners featuring the World Cup winner from Parc des Princes and ceased selling his jerseys in club stores across Paris.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG is set to expire in 2024, and his refusal to extend it has sparked speculation about his potential departure. Club management is determined to secure a transfer fee for him rather than allow him to leave on a free transfer. The situation has escalated to the point where Mbappe was excluded from first-team training and omitted from the pre-season squad.

The removal of Mbappe-related banners from the club’s stadium and the absence of his name on jerseys available in PSG stores underline the increasing divide between the player and the club.

The French forward, who has previously criticized PSG’s internal dynamics, is currently training with a group dubbed the “bomb squad,” consisting of players not in the club’s immediate plans. With the Ligue 1 season approaching, the question remains whether Mbappe will feature for PSG. Their opening fixture is against Lorient on Saturday, August 12th.
