The hope of securing an MLS playoffs spot for Inter Miami received a significant boost following their performance in the latest round of matches. Messi, along with Jordi Alba, played just over 30 minutes before their early exit due to physical issues.

However, this setback did not hinder Inter Miami’s quest for victory. Facundo Farias, Robert Taylor (with a brace), and Benjamin Cremaschi found the back of the net, sealing a resounding 4-0 victory for the pink-clad team. Remarkably, Taylor, coming off the bench, contributed with two goals and an assist.

Thanks to this result, combined with DC United being held to a 1-1 draw by Atlanta United at home, Inter Miami narrowed the gap to just 5 points. DC United, currently occupying the 9th spot, holds the final playoff berth and is the last hurdle for teams aiming to secure a spot in the direct MLS playoff rounds.

However, when considering the position for direct playoff qualification, Inter Miami still faces a 12-point deficit to Nashville, currently in 7th place. Closing this gap in the remaining matches will be a challenging task for the Florida-based team, even though they have played fewer games.

Following this impressive victory, Inter Miami’s upcoming fixtures in the MLS include matches against Orlando City, New York City, Chicago Fire, Cincinnati, Charlotte, and a rescheduled game against Charlotte.Additionally, on September 28th, Messi and his teammates will face Dynamo Houston in the US Open Cup final, adding another exciting challenge to their busy schedule.

Inter Miami’s recent form and attacking prowess suggest they are determined to secure a place in the MLS playoffs, and their fans can look forward to an exciting and competitive end to the season.
