This season, Real Madrid has had terrible luck with injuries. Just a few days prior to the start of the season, Thibaut Courtois suffered a catastrophic ACL tear, and Eder Militao experienced a similar setback against Athletic Club.

To make matters worse, Vinicius Junior tore his hamstring during Real Madrid’s triumph over Celta Vigo on matchday three. The Brazilian’s projected recovery period is six weeks.

There have been rumors that Vinicius will be available for the Madrid derby later this month, but Real Madrid do not want to push the 22-year-old player back into action too soon, according to Diario AS. As a result, they are intending to travel with him to Seville four weeks from now.

Vinicius’ recovery is progressing according to plan; he has been receiving treatment at Valdebabas and was even spotted at the Italian Grand Prix of Formula 1 last weekend in Monza, close to the city of Milan.

Vinicius’ absence has not yet had a significant impact on Real Madrid, and Joselu, who replaced him against Getafe, scored in that game. He remains one of their most crucial players, though, and Carlo Ancelotti, their head coach, will be looking forward to his comeback.
