Al Hilal: The Ambitious Pursuit of Neymar – PSG’s Demands and the Saudi Connection

In a recent twist of football fate, Al Hilal, the Arabian powerhouse, has already made moves as Neymar, the Brazilian superstar, expressed his intention to leave PSG, according to the reputable source,

Foot Mercato. This revelation has sent shockwaves throughout the French football media, as Neymar, feeling disenchanted by his current situation at PSG, met with the club’s leadership amidst the turmoil. PSG’s internal strife has left them without a clear direction, a team adrift.

RMC Sport reported that on August 9th, PSG’s head coach, Luis Enrique, along with football advisor Luis Campos, held a private meeting with Neymar before announcing the player’s potential departure.

However, PSG has slapped a staggering price tag of €150 million on Neymar’s services, a valuation seemingly aimed at ensuring they don’t suffer excessive losses compared to the world-record €222 million they paid to acquire Neymar in 2017.

This hefty asking price undoubtedly creates obstacles for English Premier League teams eyeing Neymar, notably Chelsea. Still, it appears to be a mere trifle for the Saudi Arabian giants.

Foot Mercato has revealed that Al Hilal’s representatives arrived in Paris on the late afternoon of August 9th, actively engaging with Neymar’s entourage.

The Middle Eastern powerhouse is prepared to shell out a staggering €300-400 million for a 3-4 year contract with Neymar. Additionally, PSG’s €150 million transfer fee demands don’t seem to deter the Arabian representatives.

In fact, even in the face of failing to lure Lionel Messi to the Arabian peninsula, Al Hilal is now ready to entice Neymar with a contract worth €200 million per year, mirroring the terms agreed upon by Cristiano Ronaldo with Al-Nassr. The Saudi Pro League representatives are also willing to pay PSG around €45 million as a transfer fee to facilitate the Neymar deal.

L’Equipe firmly asserts that Neymar is not averse to the idea of playing in Arabia.

However, the current priority for the 1992-born forward remains playing in Europe’s top-tier leagues, aiming to maintain his peak performance for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

Neymar is rumored to be exploring every avenue to make a return to Barcelona and potentially seek a temporary move to Chelsea with an option for a permanent transfer.

As the transfer saga unfolds, it’s clear that Neymar’s next chapter could be written in the Arabian desert, but his desire to remain at the pinnacle of European football remains an intriguing subplot.

Whether it’s an Arabian adventure or a return to familiar pastures, the world waits with bated breath to see where Neymar’s football journey takes him next.
