Bernardo Silva Emerges as a Prime Target for Barça
Manchester City’s influential midfielder, Bernardo Silva, is reportedly giving serious consideration to a new contract with the club, amidst significant interest from European giants Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
As of now, neither of the aforementioned clubs have officially presented formal offers to secure the services of the 28-year-old Portuguese international. However, City remains optimistic that Silva will commit to a contract extension before the upcoming season.
Notably, uncertainties persist around Barcelona’s ability to secure the signature of one of Manchester City’s key players. In a revealing statement made by their economic vice-president, Eduard Romeu, in June, it was disclosed that the club’s financial obligations had skyrocketed to an astonishing €470 million.
Throughout his tenure with City, Silva has contemplated departure on various occasions due to his desire to be closer to his family in Portugal. This inclination has rendered the idea of a move to Barcelona more appealing than a potential switch to PSG.
